Functions at Firefly



With beautiful Sydney Harbour as backdrop, Firefly is the perfect venue for your event. Firefly regularly hosts events including product launches, wine tastings, engagement parties, birthdays, corporate luncheons and literary readings evenings. Our location, attractive packages and personalised service are guaranteed to make your event memorable.
What is the venue capacity of Firefly?
Firefly can cater for up to 36 guests for a sit down dinner, or 65 guests for a cocktail and canapé event You can book Firefly for your special event any time, any day, seven days of the week between 8am and 11:30pm (last drinks 11pm). All seated group bookings of 10 guests or more will be required to choose one of our banquet menus.
Why choose Firefly?
Our size and our unique waterfront location make us the perfect choice to host events up to 65 guests. We offer exclusivity of venue for a minimum of 30 guests for a seated event, and 40 guests for a standing event Monday to Saturday, and 60 guests for a standing event (only) on Sundays. Furthermore we don't impose a venue hire fee or minimum spend.
How are standup events hosted?
Firefly operates under a restaurant license. For standup events during a lunch or dinner period guests need to choose from one of our canapés menus. For events of shorter duration outside of these times we will tailor a light snacks menu to suit your needs.
For both standing and seated events the food must be paid for on one account. Beverages can be paid for in full by you the organiser OR you may place a tab on the bar to get your guests started then revert to cash bar, OR you may opt to have your guests pay for their drinks as they go. Please do note that as organizer you are responsible for any damage to the premises and any beverages not paid for.
Service Charge
All of our events incur a service charge of 10% on the final bill. In the instance where guests pay for their own beverages, the service charge will be added to those beverages.
Food and Beverage Menus
We offer a choice of two Canapés Menus and three Seated Banquet Menus.
To make a Booking
First decide on which menu option you would like. You can view our most up to date menus by clicking on either the canapés menus or banquet menus icons just above. If you are also organizing beverages view our current list by clicking the beverage menu button. Please note that beverages are charged on consumption, ie; you/your guests only pay for what you drink. We strictly do not offer drinks packages.
Next call one of either Louise Lynch or Warren Ford on 92412031 with the specific details of your event including anticipated numbers, arrival/departure time, menu choices and any other details we can assist you with. We require a NON REFUNDABLE deposit via credit card (MC/VISA AMEX) of $10 per anticipated guest. Your deposit will be applied against your account on the day. You may vary your numbers up until 72 hours before the event without penalty. In the instance where you have booked Firefly exclusively and attendance on the day does not meet our minimum requirement, we will charge the full amount for the food component and reserve the right to open Firefly to the general public.
Christmas/New Year 2007.
Please note that Firefly will commence bookings for the Christmas period (November 1st - December 23rd) as of September 1st 2007. During this period Firefly will be offering as a minimum the $45pp seated deluxe banquet and $45pp deluxe canapés menus, as well as a $53pp banquet/canapés option which will include crackers and Christmas Pudding.
