Review - LifeStyle Food

An oasis of all-day grazing comes to trendy Teneriffe.
Brothers Daniel and Oliver Sofo know a thing or two about taking on trends. They pioneered the ultra unique, ultra hip and down right gorgeous Firefly Wine Bar in Sydney. Now they've created Salon in super cool Teneriffe, a sophisticated sanctuary of all-day grazing that swiftly swept up Good Life's Best New Restaurant award for 2006. Salon serves a regional European tapas menu all day from 11am until late, so supper-chasers from the surrounding pubs can absolutely spoil themselves here. It's all very Euro-chic, lavished with beautiful chocolate leather banquettes, a massive vintage style timber bar and a ceiling-high wine rack

The Sofos call their style of dining "grazing". Perhaps it's because the "tapas" moniker has been unduly sullied as second-rate eateries cash in on the trend, or perhaps because the food here draws influences not only from Spain but across the Mediterranean, with France, Italy and Morocco playing equal parts. The menu changes monthly. The wonderfully decadent morsels on offer could include pan-roasted barramundi with preserved lemon and ricotta gnocchi, and duck liver parfait with house-made brioche.
