Review - Sunday Telegraph March 2004

Hickson Bay is the next space to watch waterside, and mid-January this little beauty opened to sighs of relief from theatre crowds. Basically it's a wine, cocktail and expresso bar with tapas-style tasting dishes. The 18 tasting plates ($8-$16) include sauteed calamari with mint, baby beetroot salad with roma beans and hazelnuts, or charlotte potatoes with cannellini beans. Sommeller Paul is described as a "complete wine nut" and there a re planty of spirits, beers and anything else liquid here. How does apricot, pomegranate and lemon frappe with a dash of soda ($6.50) sound alongside your early-morning wodd-fired granola ($7)?
